Family Centre Partners
The Family Centre partners with a range of trusted organisations committed to providing help and support and advice for families. The Community Hubs act as a “One Stop Shop,” which ensures effective signposting to trusted individuals and organisations. In addition to the organisations listed above we are extremely grateful to the support off.

Currently we have six NCT trainers using the Centre providing local parents support with:-
- Pre-natal Care
- Labour and Birth (including trauma and infant death)
- Fathers’ role in pregnancy, birth and beyond
- Post-natal care and support
- Breast feeding training and counselling
- Early-led weaning.

The Family Centre works closely with EPEC (Empowering Parents and Engaging Communities) who lead regular courses at the centre. A course for parents of children who have autism was launched this year.
EPEC offers courses for parents and carers designed by the NHS Centre for Parents and Children. Unlike other parenting courses, EPEC trains local parents to deliver the sessions themselves, fostering a peer-to-peer learning environment.
The courses currently delivered by the EPEC Hub at our Family Centre include:
Being a Parent – for parents of children aged 2-11 years
- Living with Teenagers – for parents of young people aged 11-16 years
- Be My Parent Autism
- Parent Group Leader Training

The SKIPS Adoption Support Group, in partnership with Havering Post Adoption and Permanency, offers a safe space for adoptive parents to share experiences and receive assistance, particularly during the early stages of placement. Our Adoption Support Drop-in provides therapeutic support for adoptive families and training for teachers.
We are excited to integrate cutting-edge virtual reality technology to help educators understand early trauma and its effects on a child’s development. This initiative will equip teachers with skills to create a more supportive learning environment for adopted children.

Mind of the Parent
As a Family Centre we partner with Mind of the Parent and hold a series of workshops facilitated by experienced healthcare professionals. These workshops offer a safe, supportive space where parents can:
- Learn evidence-based techniques to promote their own emotional resilience.
- Gain practical strategies to help their children navigate mental health challenges.
- Connect with a like-minded community of parents, sharing experiences and fostering mutual support.
With the rise in mental health challenges faced by young people, the need for parental support is more pressing than ever. This programme is designed to bridge the gap by equipping parents with the tools they need to be confident, informed, and empathetic supporters for their children.
Debt Support and Advice

The Family Centre has established a close working relationship with Debt Free London with one of their Debt Information Kiosks installed at the Family Centre. This facility allows confidential face to face support and advice with qualified Financial Advisors from Debt Free London.
